Last week, we were welcomed with open arms and vibrant energy as we attended the 2025 Casualty Actuarial Society’s Spring Meeting in Toronto, Ontario.
Toronto Connections
Our Actuarial Recruiters, Jennifer Retford and Brea Davis, had the pleasure of connecting with actuarial professionals from across North America. Our booth quickly became a popular gathering spot for engaging conversations, professional networking, and distributing our exclusive maple leaf koozies, which proved to be an absolute hit with attendees! As always, our pens and notebooks were in such high demand that we ran out early in the event.

Exploring Toronto
One of the highlights of the venue was its exceptional location. The train station was directly across the street from the hotel, offering quick and convenient transportation to the airport. The station’s food court added an unexpected element of entertainment, featuring a DJ station each day at lunch where local DJs showcased their talents—a truly unique Toronto experience!
We also got to explore the city each day and loved taking in all the sights. The CN Tower (left image below) held the record for the world’s tallest free-standing structure for 32 years, from 1975 until 2007. It is currently the tenth-tallest free-standing structure in the world. In 1995, the American Society of Civil Engineers declared the CN Tower one of the modern Seven Wonders of the World.

Hockey Hall of Fame Event
No trip to Canada would be complete without celebrating the nation’s beloved sport. We thoroughly enjoyed the Hockey Hall of Fame event, where highlights included viewing the original Stanley Cup and an impressive collection of championship rings. Many attendees participated in the interactive hockey simulation games, testing their skills as both scorers and goalies against virtual opponents.

Looking Forward
We’re already looking forward to seeing you at the next CAS event—where we can reconnect and continue these valuable conversations. In the meantime, if you have any questions you didn’t get a chance to ask during the meeting, it’s not too late! Reach out to us via our website or message Jennifer or Brea on LinkedIn today!
Be sure to check out our latest actuarial opportunities. Whether you’re an experienced FCAS looking for your next challenge or an entry-level actuary, we have exciting roles across the industry waiting for you to explore!
